With 1972, Sarah Morris created a filmic portrait of Dr. Georg Sieber, the former chief psychologist of the Olympic police. Dr. Sieber was present on the tragic morning of September 5, 1972, when members of the terrorist group “Black September” attacked the Israeli Olympic team and took its members hostage. Through a detailed interview with Dr. Sieber, the film examines failed plans and what happens when unheeded warnings become reality. In doing so, it offers a new perspective on the events of the 1972 Olympic Games.
