Anne Loch photographed her surroundings incessantly. Her estate contains hundreds of contact sheets, which she meticulously labelled and numbered herself. Some of the images are snapshots, while others are carefully staged self-portraits. Time and again, Anne Loch used these photographs as the starting point for her paintings, sometimes many years after the photographs had originally been taken.
