For her large-scale flower paintings, Anne Loch often used a book by the botanist and photographer Paula Kohlhaupt as a visual reference. The photographs were taken from ground level to capture the plants completely. Behind the flowers, often a magnificent Alpine panorama unfolds. Anne Loch translates this encounter between the delicate flowers and the imposing mountain landscape into enlarged compositions in her paintings.
