Gardens
Burle Marx transforms the former sugar plantation Sítio Santo Antônio da Bica into a botanical laboratory, which will become central to his work in landscape architecture. In experimental gardens, he tests compositions and combinations of plants with various design elements. Greenhouses and plant beds accommodate his plant collection, which he continually expands with purchases and expeditions into different regions. He also uses these gardens to produce seedlings for his projects.
